Overview
Quarz, Inc. ("Quarz", "we", "us") operates quarz.io and the Quarz product. This policy explains what we collect about you, why we collect it, and the rights you have over it. We've written it in the same plain language we use in the product. If anything is unclear, email team@quarz.io.
The short version: we collect the minimum required to run the product, we do not sell your data, we do not run ad-tracking pixels, and we use one analytics tool (Plausible) that does not set cross-site cookies.
Data we collect
Information you give us directly
- Account data: name, work email, the role you selected at signup, optionally your company.
- Workspace data: ICPs, goals, voice samples, drafts, scheduled posts — the content of your Quarz workspace.
- Communications: messages you send us via the contact form or support email.
Information we collect automatically
- Usage: which pages you visit, anonymized via Plausible Analytics. No personal identifiers, no cookies set.
- Technical: IP address (truncated within 24 hours), browser, OS, referrer — for security and debugging.
Information from third parties (only if you connect them)
- LinkedIn (optional): if you connect your LinkedIn account, we receive an OAuth token for the scopes you authorize — typically read your profile and write posts on your behalf.
How we use it
| Purpose | Data used | Legal basis (EU/UK) |
|---|---|---|
| Operating your Quarz workspace | Account + workspace data | Contract |
| Generating drafts in your voice | Voice samples + prompts | Contract |
| Publishing posts to LinkedIn | LinkedIn OAuth token | Contract |
| Attribution analytics | Calendar metadata + post identifiers | Contract |
| Improving the product | Aggregate usage stats | Legitimate interest |
| Security & abuse prevention | IP, request logs | Legitimate interest |
| Replying to support / sales | Contact form data | Legitimate interest |
We do not use your workspace content (drafts, voice samples, ICPs) to train models that are accessible to other customers. Your voice fingerprint is private to your workspace.
Who we share it with
We share the minimum necessary data with sub-processors who help us run the service. Each is bound by data-processing terms equivalent to ours.
- Anthropic — generates draft content from your prompts and voice samples. Data is not used for model training. EU + US regions available.
- Plausible Analytics — cookieless website analytics.
- Loops.so — transactional email (login codes, replies to your support requests).
- Stripe — billing (only if you have a paid subscription).
We never sell your data. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
Cookies and tracking
Quarz uses two categories of cookies. You can accept or reject the optional category from the banner shown on first visit, or reopen the banner anytime from the Cookies link in the footer.
| Category | Purpose | Optional? |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Login session, CSRF protection, cookie-consent state | No — required to run the site |
| Analytics | Anonymous Plausible measurement (no cross-site cookies) | Yes |
We do not use marketing, advertising, or social-media cookies. We do not embed Facebook Pixel, Google Ads, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or similar.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (UK/EU, California, Brazil, others) you have one or more of these rights:
- Access — get a copy of your data.
- Rectification — fix anything inaccurate.
- Deletion — ask us to erase your account.
- Portability — export your workspace content as JSON.
- Object — to processing based on legitimate interest.
- Withdraw consent — for anything you've consented to (e.g. analytics).
To exercise any of these, email team@quarz.io. We respond within 30 days.
How long we keep things
- Workspace content: for as long as your account is active, plus 30 days after cancellation so you can export.
- Drafts you've deleted: 7-day soft-delete window, then permanent.
- Plausible analytics: 24 months, then aggregated.
- Support communications: 24 months from last reply.
- Billing records: 7 years (tax requirement).
How to contact us
Email us: team@quarz.io
If you're in the EU or UK and want to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, you have the right to do so. We'd appreciate the chance to address your concern first — but you don't have to give us that chance.
